The Alexander Collection at BRAHM is made possible thanks to the generous donation of American art by two founder emeriti of the museum, Welborn and Patricia Alexander. The Alexanders have contributed to the growth and expansion of this museum since its earliest days, and they continue to give to the museum through regular donations of artwork from their collection. The Alexander Collection is comprised of significant works of Impressionist art by prominent American artists from the late 19th to the early 20th centuries. These gifts have defined a major aspect the scope of the museum's collection since 2014.

BRAHM is committed to exhibiting select works from the Alexander Collection throughout the year, so visitors and the Blowing Rock community can continue to access and experience these important works of art.

Special thanks to Dr. Audrey Fessler and her students at Appalachian State University for their collaboration, research, and writing on the select works currently on view. Contributing students include Josie Barnes, Cecilia Bockoven, Rae Burke, Paige Childers, Ann Clary, Helena Davis, Victor Diaz, Christian Ellison, Mary Gilland, Meg Hanff, Christian Hawkins, Gabbie Lessard, Sarah Mace, Josh Resto, Ava Sangster, Cole Shouse, Caitlin Smith, Sarah Spencer, Elizabeth Vaughan, Ava Widmann, and Izabela Willis.
