Josiah Mark Cameron was born and raised in Kings Mountain, NC. He has been painting since he was young. Although he enjoys formal drawing and comic book illustrations, his primary studio practice focuses on layered paintings involving portraiture and the human figure. Through painting, Cameron attempts to capture the subtle intricacies that really define an individual, revealing an honest, truthful portrait of that person. However, the visual and physical characteristics of the paint itself are just as important to Cameron as the subjects he depicts.
