Focus Tour for BRAHM Members: Collecting With Purpose

Focus Tour for BRAHM Members: Collecting With Purpose

When I got interested in art, it changed my life! — Welborn Alexander

Join BRAHM docent Sue Glenn as she traverses three different collections currently exhibited at the Museum and discusses how a gathering of prized personal possessions transforms into a legacy-making, formal collection of art. Transformation, The Janet H. Wilson Collection, and The Alexander Collection display artworks made across time, geography, and medium. What they all have in common are thoughtful and persistent collectors of art who have built their collections with dedicated focus, revealing unexpected and rewarding bodies of work and fostering institutional legacies that will last well into the future. Come for the artwork and leave with an intimate understanding of how the exhibitions on view shaped and were shaped by the collectors behind them.

Focus Tours are a new benefit of BRAHM membership! Developed and led by the museum's insightful and passionate docent team, these deep dives into the museum's current exhibitions will highlight relevant special topics and themes, revealing the complexity of the artworks on view and the histories behind them.
