Wednesday Mindfulness Meditation Group

CANCELLED THIS WEEK. WE’LL BE BACK NEXT WEEK!

Make time for yourself on Wednesday evenings for a weekly mindfulness and meditation Group. The gatherings will explore meditation, mindfulness and consciousness. Combining years of meditation practice experience with his lifelong passion of living in service to others, Eric DeVere will be guiding the weekly meditation group.

Meditating with a group gives us a firsthand witnessing of the shared human experience beyond its conceptual understanding, allowing the opportunity for healing, belonging, and personal insight.

This is a free event. Donations accepted. Please register via the website.

Mindfulness Meditation Guidelines

“Kindness and respect for all”

Everyone is welcomed, valued, and safe to share openly and authentically. Each participant’s boundaries and experiences are to be honored and respected. Individuals should feel comfortable exploring their inner selves.

“Compassion over criticism”

Refrain from blaming or shaming. Compassionate dialogue uplifts individuals and nurtures their personal transformation.

“Beginner’s mind”

Be curious, receptive, and willing to explore even in familiar or repetitive circumstances. “Try on” new ideas and approaches when you are comfortable. Try replacing “but” with “and” in your speech to create space for the coexistence of multiple perspectives and ideas.

“Listen deeply, speak mindfully”

Actively listen without judgement so that individuals might feel seen, heard, and understood. When sharing, attend to speak about your own experiences and responses. Refrain from “cross-talk” and giving advice. If you feel a calling to follow-up with someone afterwards, ask them for permission before doing so.

“Respectful silence, shared trust”

Respecting confidentiality and privacy establishes a foundation of trust within the group. This allows for a deeper level of authenticity and vulnerability in the group setting. Take home lessons you learn but leave out the names.

“Intent versus impact”

Recognize that while may have positive intentions, it is essential to consider the actual impact our words and actions have on others. Denying the impact of something of said by focusing on intent can often exacerbate the issue.

“Set your pace”

The right to pass: Not everyone may be ready or comfortable to participate or share at any given moment. Individuals should honor their own pace and self-care, building self-trust to enhance their overall mindfulness practice.
