Join exhibiting artist Jan Lukens as he discusses his current exhibition, Jan Lukens: Equine & Equestrian Painting, and his studio practice more broadly. This artist's talk provides the rare opportunity to speak with the artist alongside his work.

Greensboro-based artist Jan Lukens has been capturing the beauty of the equine form and the dynamism of the sporting culture that surrounds it for over two decades. His paintings are rooted in an unwavering attention to horse anatomy—a celebration of these creatures' physical prowess and innate grace—and a passion for the sportsmanship on display in horse show events across the country. Capturing the likeness of Olympic winners, a variety of breeds, and the intimate relationship between horse and rider, Lukens carries on a tradition of equine and equestrian painting rooted in the art historical canon.

PLEASE NOTE: Limited seating available. An 80% refund will be issued if the participant cancels three weeks prior to the event. For cancellations made less than three weeks prior to the event, BRAHM will issue a refund IF the museum is able to fill the vacated spot.
