Staff Highlight: Courtney Baines, Marketing & Communications Director
Courtney came to BRAHM in November of 2019. As marketing director, she keeps the community informed of all that BRAHM has to offer. In a matter of months, she has designed and launched a new website, helped transition the team to new organizational & communications platforms, and led the virtual engagement effort during the pandemic.
Learn more about Courtney in this week’s staff highlight.
Staff Highlight: Jasmin McFayden, Executive Assistant
Jasmin joined the BRAHM team in February of 2018. Her role as Executive Assistant stretches far and wide. In addition to clerical tasks and supporting BRAHM’s director and Board of Trustees, she oversees membership development and BRAHM’s special fundraising events, like the Annual Gala. She works alongside volunteer committees whose members lend support, ideas, and leadership in event planning and membership engagement. “Though BRAHM has a small staff, it rolls out programs, exhibitions, and events on a grand scale. We couldn’t do it without the support of our Board and volunteers who care deeply for the museum and Blowing Rock.”

Staff Highlight: Lee Carol Giduz, Executive Director
Lee Carol has been leading BRAHM through a period of growth and evolution as its executive director since 2015. Through her team-oriented nature, BRAHM has truly become a reflection of its staff, board, and community. Learn more about our talented and dedicated leader.
Staff Highlight: Willard Watson III, Programs & Outreach Director
His museum work has nourished Willard’s passion for community building and cultural preservation through the creative arts, using BRAHM as a platform to bring people together and inspire positive change in the community. “How do our exhibits and programs bring in people from all walks of life and unite them around the culture, heritage, and creativity that exists in our community?” This question guides his work at BRAHM. Get to know him more through this excellent interview conducted by Jasmin McFayden.
Staff Highlight: Anna Clair Miller, Visitor Services
Anna Clair has been BRAHM’s Visitor Services Coordinator since 2017. Stationed at the front desk, she is the first person one sees upon entry to the museum and the person graciously bidding adieu when leaving. While Anna Clair is very sweet and friendly, her introduction goes well beyond an amiable welcome. She thoughtfully sets the visitor up to have the most impactful museum experience. She can answer just about any BRAHM-related question and frequently gives general area information to newcomers.
Staff Highlight: Jennifer Terrell Garonzik, Education Center Director
Jennifer began her position with BRAHM in March of 2016. During her time as Education Center Director, BRAHM’s hands-on educational workshops have expanded to 24 children’s classes per month in addition to adult workshops. She also coordinates the Annual Blowing Rock Plein Air Festival (begun in 2018) alongside a group of dedicated committee members. In her position, Jennifer elevates art education, augments public school curricula, and supports artists through all phases of life.
Staff Highlight: Dianna Cameron, Curator of Exhibitions & Collections
Dianna has worked for BRAHM since July of 2014, when the Museum was a mere three years old. She has grown and evolved in her position, as have BRAHM’s exhibitions and collections under her direction. Talk to Dianna and you will quickly find that she is always thinking strategically, and carefully considers the history, current state, and mission of BRAHM’s permanent collection and exhibitions when exploring future projects. And, as most who have visited BRAHM in the past couple of years will agree, the quality of exhibitions and their relevance to local history, contemporary artists, and Southern Appalachian culture is evident.
Staff Highlight: Sharon Caldwell, Business Manager
Sharon has been BRAHM’s Business Manager since November of 2017. While Sharon’s job is primarily to manage the museum’s finances and oversee the front desk, her actual tasks go far beyond these responsibilities. At any time, you could see Sharon checking the HVAC system, meeting with contractors, assisting caterers at BRAHM events, or straightening up the gift shop. This is partly because Sharon is well-versed in many positions, and partly because she is quick to say yes when another staff member needs help in their own area. Sharon can switch hats at any given moment and is readily willing to do so.
Staff Highlight: Steve Eichner
Steve has been with BRAHM since 2016. Weekend visitors to the Museum will recognize Steve as the friendly face behind the front desk who gives museum information, answers questions, and lends an abundance of witticisms.
Staff Highlight: Meet Mark Brackbill, BRAHM's Facility Manager
Mark has been the Facility Manager at BRAHM since 2016. To say that Mark can do just about anything may be an understatement. His many contributions blend seamlessly into the facility, whether it is hanging the Gift Shop sign on the outside of the building, a giant wreath over the front door, or creating smooth, angled walls that appear built-in to a gallery. Mark’s painting and building skills lend uniquely to BRAHM, as does his craftsmanship (he built the bar your cold beverages come from at BRAHM receptions).
