How fortunate we are that our museum is home to two beautiful art collections of ‘American Impressionism’. Two of our galleries are displaying this work from artists who painted during this time of creative growth and change in our country.

These paintings were collected over a number of years by three of the BRAHM’s founding members, Janet H. Wilson and Welborn and Patty Alexander.

Most of this art has found a home in the museum’s permanent collection due to the donors’ dedication to the future of a museum they helped create.  Can you see the impression of gratitude here?

Visitors to the museum have been able to immerse themselves in these two exhibits since late May as life slowly returned to a somewhat normal routine.

Art makes unique impressions on us and can take us in various directions when closely observed. The subject and technique combined with light, color, motion, and texture can amount to a source of joy and even a source of healing. Our senses are engaged in unique ways and we leave the galleries with a gift, from the very gifts that have been generously given to our museum.

If you have not yet stopped by the BRAHM to see these special works of art just know that they will make a very good impression if you do!
