Curator’s Corner: Ben & Tony

We're looking forward to sharing some new exhibitions with you all this winter! One of our new exhibitions will be "Drawing from Life: Ben Long & Tony Griffin." Those that know of these two artists are likely familiar with Ben's large scale frescoes and Tony's amazing landscape paintings. We're excited to take a different approach in "Drawing from Life," as this exhibition shares details about the long term friendship between these two North Carolina artists, their ties to the Blowing Rock area, and specifically, their figurative and portrait drawings on paper! Taking a closer look, we can see that these drawings tell just as much about the models they depict as they do the lives of the artists themselves. "Drawing from Life" will open to the public on Saturday, November 21st. We'll be doing some virtual highlights leading up to the opening of this exhibition, so be sure to keep an eye out.
