Tuesdays, 3:30 - 4:30 pm | Ideal for 6-12 year olds: Creative art-making activities highlighting a variety of artists and methods.

From beer and kombucha to hot sauce and kimchi, fermented foods and drinks are everywhere. Though it once might have felt like a fleeting trend, fermentation has a long culinary history, especially in the southern United States, where the hotter climate and agricultural tradition of the region helped foster the use of fermentation as a means of preserving foods.

Join us for an in-depth look at one of BRAHM’s most ambitious exhibitions yet: “Daingerfield and the Tonalist Instinct.” We feature extraordinary works by Blowing Rock’s own Elliott Daingerfield, including some from private collections that have rarely been seen publicly, as well as works borrowed from major museums.

The Blowing Rock Plein Air Festival is a four-day, open enrollment plein air painting event. It takes place in the beautiful mountainous area surrounding the town of Blowing Rock in western North Carolina, from Tuesday, August 19, to Saturday, August 23th, 2025.
