Gustave Adolph Wiegand was a German artist, born in 1870. He attended the Dresden Royal Academy and the Royal Academy in Berlin. He then moved to New York and studied under Merritt Chase and Eugen Bracht all the while honing his landscape painting skills.
Wiegand was a member of the Allied Artists of America, the National Arts Club, the New York Society of Painters, and the Salmagundi Club. Wiegand's paintings can be seen in the Brooklyn Museum, the National Arts Club, and the Newark Museum to name a few.
