When Herb Cohen first began pottery at age six, it was the beginning of a life long journey. Cohen attended New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University and received his Masters of Fine Arts. Cohen's career in the arts is not limited to only being a potter. Cohen was hired as a curator at Mint Museum in Charlotte and from 1968-1969 he served as the acting director. After his time at the Mint, Cohen moved to Blowing Rock to establish his own studio. During his time in the High Country he was instrumental in establishing BRAHM. For his dedication to the arts and service in founding the museum, Cohen was made president emeritus of the Blowing Rock Art and History Museum. He now lives in Charlotte, NC.
