Have you ever been to the historical drama Horn in the West? Well, if not, you’re in for a treat! This June, BRAHM is bringing the Horn in the West drama to Blowing Rock. The tale of Daniel Boone, leaders of the Revolutionary War in North Carolina and the Battle of King’s Mountain are presented each summer by the Southern Appalachian Historical Association as the nation’s oldest historical drama. The Hickory Ridge Living History Museum and historical site is located in Boone and offers an array of interactive spaces for children and adults alike. With museum actors and staff dressed in clothing of the time period and colonial structures for visitors to walk through, the Hickory Ridge Living History Museum offers a “glimpse into the past and a feeling for the daily lives of early mountain settler”.

Kids, bring your parents! On June 6th, BRAHM will be hosting characters from Horn in the West for a live interactive storytelling. The performance will tell the story of Daniel Boone's Great Escape--a storybook written by Michael P. Spradlin detailing the events of Daniel Boone's most perilous encounter. Attendees will be able to not only hear a reading of this story, but will also be entertained by a live performance of the tale’s key scenes. Afterward, children will be able to interact with the actors and historical objects from the time period. Bring your imagination and your coon skin hats!

Please stick around after this event for Afternoon Art Club with Pioneer Crafts!
