1923: The Blowing Rock Fire
May 9 – July 26, 2015
Visiting the village for the first time, you would hardly find a trace of evidence of the devastating fire of 1923 that destryed most of the town. After the event, the official Blowing Rock Fire Department was founded, and the town worked together to gather funds to purchase its first fire truck. This exhibition looked back at this significant moment in Blowing Rock’s history and opened in conjuction with the celebratory restoration of this first fire truck. BRAHM collaborated with the Blowing Rock Historical Society and the Blowing Rock Fire Department to bring this project to our audience.
